Crew Patches Done.

Red: Tread (may need to be renamed) - 50 patches
Black: Critical Mast - 50 Patches
Green: Flying Dutchmen - 9 Patches

What I had in mind was putting one on the back and then one on front on the handle bars of participants. We can choose crews by flipping a coin, then attach w/ safety pins.

Still need to work out a lot of details, but this is a start.

finished making some basic pirate stencils. i think they look pirate-like enough. i am no Banksy, but figure these work.

the colored pencil markings indicate what color each clan will be placed on. they will be placed on pieces of fabric, safety pins will be supplied to attach them - or we might do bandanas?.. we will see.

The time has changed to 5:30p @ Liberty Park on the 19th. Since this is the case, organizers need to be there an hour early - 4:30p.

The CTF(capturetheflag) will be at 7:00p. Davey Jones Locker will contact the Disorderly House about the times.

I am handing out a DOUBLE FEATURE: Blackout + PIRATE DAY Print Out - at Midnight Mass tonight. Here is the solo flier. Feel free to print out more and distro them. Definitely tell everyone that might be remotely interested in it - even people who don't ride bikes, but like pirates. We need to really extend our reach here.

I still need to make stencils. Does anyone have any white, yellow and/or black material? If so, post a comment.

Think of anything else? Post a comment. I still may get a hold of Artopia for donated prizes - no guarantees though.

Oh, would anyone be interested in spoke cards for the event? If so, tell me and make them. Otherwise the team stenciled fabric should be good enough...

Suggested Donation: $5 (goes to fund the community slc bike chop shop)

The Three Trials/Events:

Treasure Hunt
Mini Bike Races
Capture the Flag

Purpose: Compete for the Golden Spoke Card, a card which will entitle the holder a prize from the SLC Bike Chop Shop.. and of course to have fun.

points = dablooons // dabloons = points

Three factions:

CRITICALMAST(on white), BLACKTREAD(on red) & FREAK BIKERS(on yellow).

CRITICALMAST<--->BLACKTREAD cmast, blacktread compete against each other
FREAK BIKERS freak bikers fight both sides

The majority of the Capture the Flag portion will be planned by Disorderly House. However, we have compiled a list of possible ideas:

•Possibly shorten the 6th west <-> 6th east boundaries to a smaller area?

•The flags for each side are mini bikes, which are rode by one of the members of each team in a given area. When you tag the mini biker, they get off the bike and you have to carry the mini back to your side.

•Water guns for the freak bikers - if you get sprayed you are out of the game for a certain duration. Duration hasn't been set yet.

Dressing up as a pirate - yourself and your bicycle is encouraged. It is also suggested that you bring grog. (rum)

Disorderly House Boutique is now coordinating with us to make Ride Like A Pirate Day. The original plans have been altered, but whatever we come up with will be epic indeed.

Salt Lake City 1st Annual Ride Like A Pirate Day

As any pirate would do, the 1st Annual Ride Like A Pirate Day, steals heavily from many and leaves it all locked up with a old dusty treasure map for plundering on September 19th. (on a Friday)

We are looking for participants, and just as needed are organizers. This will be unlike any allycat, any race or any ride that you have ever experienced. Right now we are organizing and collecting ideas.

This is what I have in mind:

•bonus points for those that dress up in pirate clothes.

•Liberty Park pirate sprints.

•A competition, not based on speed alone, or rather finishing first as much as doing the best in the trials. So if a person finishes last, they could very well win because they have more points.

•The three trials idea stolen from monkey island. Maybe more, maybe less, but three trials to make a pirate a pirate.

•The Bicycle Gymkahana needs to be reintroduced.

•Along with those minis, we should do minibike capture the flag @ liberty park. Pick "Captains", separate and go to it.

•Blackbeard and his treasure chest: Bicyclist and their bike cart.

•for environment we could use something like this, but with message like "All Ye That Enter Beware." with a skull and crossbones.

I am looking for other ideas too, drop them as they come.
